How I make this podcast
This podcast is an interview between me, Eric, 4Z1UG, and my guest. I record around an hour of audio to make each episode
Equipment: Dell Optiplex I7 PC - to edit audio and show notes, email, etc. Behringer Xenyx Q1204USB Mixer with USB Zoom H5 audio recorder Audio-technica ATR2100 USB Microphone Software: Kubuntu Operating System - using KDE Plasma Audacity - FREE - open source audio editing software Services: Google Meet - My interviews are conducted over Google. If the guest does not have a computer, he can call the Google Meet local number and enter a pin code. Libsyn - the podcast audio is hosted on Libsyn. Weebly - my website host that allows me to design and update my own web pages. My production process: Make conversation on Skype Record my voice into the Zoom recorder. My guests voice comes from my computer and is connected to the other channel on the Zoom recorder creating a stereo track. I listen with headphones out of the Zoom recorder. I recored the entire conversation I use Audacity to edit in post production to get rid of background noise, non-usable conversation, etc. I make a point to make sure that me and my guest are not speaking at the same time. I export to MP3 and upload a stereo file to Auphonic where the track is leveled and converted to a mono track. The completed audio track is transferred to Libsyn where it is hosted. |
