Episode 010 - Stan Levandowski - WB2LQF

Picture
Stan, WB2LQF, built his amateur radio journey on the motto "doing more with less".  Never operating more than 100 watts in his ham radio life, Stan's first QSOs, as a novice, were made with a single tube, 50LC, transmitter into the springs of his bed.  A short time later, on the air with a Heathkit "Twoer", the Benton Harbor lunchbox, Stan met the Elmers who would change his life. This lead to a lifetime of amateur radio, service to his country, contacts, interests, and friends.  Stan does more now with less with just an Elecraft KX3 as his rig of choice.  He advises new hams to keep it simple, and that it is possible to get on the air for under $100.00.

Episode 008 - Amnon Bar Giora - 4X1DF

Born in Berlin, Amnon fled the Nazis as a fifteen year old and was brought to British Manditory Palestine (now Israel) in 1938, where he was settled on a Northern Kibbutz, or collective agricultural community. Showing an aptitude for things electronics, Amnon was put in charge of the kibbutz's cinima and sound systems.  A visiting Australian soldier, a ham operator, and the Hagana's radio operator training program on the kibbutz led Amnon into a life of radio and technology.  Now at 91 years of age, Amnon gives Eric, 4Z1UG, only a taste of his very rich life of service to country, technical expertise, and entrepreneurship.

Episode 007 - Yehuda Cern - 4X1TQ

Picture
Growing up in Detroit, radio captured the imagination of six year old Yehuda, when his father, David Cern, set up a crystal set and strung a long wire antenna to the trees behind the house. This led to Yehuda to get his first ham ticket when he was only twelve, and a General Class license the following year. Yehuda was spared an early death from electrocution, when he was accidently shocked while working on the high voltage power supply of his home brew rig.  Surviving electrocution and a bit more cautious, Yehuda went on to become an innovator in the area of medical and power electronics, and a teacher.  Yehuda holds over 25 US patents, and numerous foreign patents. Amatuer Radio was the foundation on which Yehuda built ...
