Tim is one of my top choices for an interview and he's alive still! Many of my top choices are unfortunately not (W6AM, W6QL / W6KG, VP2VB, W9WNV...). I like the effort that Tim is putting out in many different ways to help others in ham radio. While operating near Tokyo, I've heard K3LR during a contest on 20 metres and I can confirm that when their antennas are turned in your direction they are very very loud. Congrats on the deserved Dayton Hamvention honour this year.

VA1CQ: FYI, W9WNV is very much alive .... he spoke at the International DX Convention in Visalia last Saturday.

VA1CQ: you could try contacting K6MKF, who moderated the event, or W9WNV / AE6IY himself -- his contact info is on QRZ.COM.

I really enjoyed Tim's interview. I can say from experience that he runs a fabulous Contest University from the content to the on time delivery of each session. He's also tireless in his support of amateur radio. I particularly enjoyed his early career story, from high school chief engineer to celluar telephone pioneer. Great interview.
