Episode 017 - Bob Wolbert - K6XX

Picture
Bob Wolbert, K6XX, owns and operates a multiple position contest station in the coastal hills of Northern California.  According to Bob, you need every dB to get contacts in your log during a contest. As the team leader for the US in the World RadioSport Team Championship 2010,  he is especially qualified to speak about what it takes to be a great contest operator. As an employee of Elecraft, Bob gets to be a professional amateur radio operator in addition to his hobby operating ham radio. Join, Eric, 4Z1UG, in his QSO Today with Bob, K6XX.

Little Print Shop - used to send sample package of QSL cards before FCC licensed was received. Bob learned of his new General Class call sign from the Litte Print Shop - as many of us did in those days. I can't find the Little Print Shop, but here is a link to QSL card printing.

What a "Blast From The Past"!! After listening to the art Bell QSO, I browsed through the list & saw this one with Bob. I worked many Field Days with Bob when he was a "smart aleck kid" in the Sonoma Count Radio Amateurs club. It was good to see & hear how far he has progressed since then. We had a lot of good fun operating the "Little Fat John" (W6LFJ) station call "back in the day", As Bob Hope used to say, :Thanks For The Memories"!!!!

73,

David
