Gus does not disappoint. A great presentation and professionally delivered; I am looking forward to trying some of Gus' STL ideas.

Nice to hear another "carrier-current" op's experiences! Mine was in 1972 while a college freshman, as board op for other students along with my own weekly show, plus a p/t engineering job at a hometown AM station (whilst slowly failing my Physics courses, but that's another story...)

I got my Novice at 16, tech at 17 (thanks to a HS-teacher/memtor) and my Radiotelephone First license (after 3 tries) and was thrilled to follow a life-long radio-passion that started with a 6-year-old's first love, "Emmie" (an Emerson AM/SW tabletop set)!

Radio - whether Broadcast or Amateur - IS still (and always WILL BE) a relevant, magical blessing. Thanks for sharing your stories!
