That was a wonderful interview Erich. Like Alan, I also believe ham radio is much, much more than just getting on the air. Enjoying electronics and brining that joy, amazement, and fascination to the amateur radio community is every bit as fun as operating. Sharing ones knowledge, face to face or via electronic media is a huge part of the hobby and Alan exemplifies that to the nth degree.

Very cool interview with Alan. I liked it a lot. Alan's mention of Project Diana and EME reminded me of something. According to QST, the town I live in now (Falls Church, Va.) is the site of the very first AMATEUR moonbounce 1950 - 1952. Ross Bateman W4AO was the wizard who did it.

I wanted to find the address of his house. No luck. Anyone know? 73 and thanks Eric. Thanks Alan!

Excellent and informative interview, Don and Eric. Like you, Eric, I am a returning ham having been off the air for about 30 years due to family life and a busy medical practice. Like you, Don, I live in Duxbury on Tinkertown Lane, less than a mile and one half from you. When you said you lived in Mass. on the ocean I figured you were on the north or south shore or on the Cape. but was pleasantly surprised to see you were located in Duxbury. I will be getting back on the air shortly with an old (but little used) IC-745 and a new Yaesu FTdx1200 and MFJ magnetic loop as well as an 80 meter G5RV. First licensed in 1964 age 14 (Novice), then 1965 General, then 2015 Extra- and am keeping my original call. Thanks again for another great podcast, and I've listened to almost all of them since discovering QSO Today about 2 months ago. And, Don, I hope to talk to you on the air sometime, and perhaps run into you around town.

Dear Alan and Eric. My apologies for leaving my comments relating to Don, N1DG, the podcast immediately after yours, in the comments section relating to your podcast. I am actually about halfway through listening to you podcast and enjoyed your perspective on amateur radio regarding kit-building and having high-caliber test equipment available owing to its use in your professional life. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the podcast. and, again, my apologies.
